Finishing Specialist II
Performs preparation and finish coat painting in accordance with specifications on products where high-grade finishes are required. Prepares surfaces of machined and composite components which require the application of protective materials such as polyurethane and epoxy paints as well as specialized aviation coatings. Process requires adherence to customer supplied drawings and meeting industry standards for color, sheen, thickness, and adhesion among others.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs paint preparation and paint application assignments under the direction of a team group leader.
  • Works independently from blueprints and process sheets to meet specified tolerances and visual requirements of the product.
  • Responsible for the quality, finish and color to comply with military specifications. Selects and utilizes the proper tools and equipment to complete task.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to perform performing repetitive, detailed work
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate or equivalent
  • One (1) year experience within the Auto body, Paint, Composite, Fiberglass, Marine or Aviation indrustries.
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship
Experience Preferred:
  • Preferred 1-3 years’ experience
  • Experience in the Aerospace, Auto body, Paint or Marine industries preferred; preferences given to those with previous experience working within the Aerospace/ Aviation industry.
  • Experienced in the use of sanding hand tools and painting equipment
  • Experience discerning color shades
  • Experience reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
  • Experience performing finish coat painting in accordance with special specifications on work where high-grade finish is essential
  • Experience maintaining paint and painting equipment according to instructions and procedures
  • Experience with a PC windows environment
