Purpose:
The Test Technician II performs operational tests and determines product acceptability and quality on a wide variety of complex electronic developmental and production components, subassemblies and systems by following test specifications, standard test procedures or general written or verbal instructions.

Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. Prepares technical reports, summarizes findings and recommends solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Performs operational tests on a wide variety of moderately complex production components, subassemblies and systems using data sheets, schematics, wiring diagrams, established test specifications and standard test procedures, which clearly outline procedures to be followed.
  • Sets up and operates in accordance with prescribed procedures a variety of test stands consisting of multiples of standard test equipment such as pulse generators, amplifiers, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, counters, etc.
  • Works with engineering instructions and standard test procedures to operationally test developmental products as required.
  • Aligns and adjusts subassemblies and/or systems in accordance with test procedures and data sheets to comply with established specifications and acceptable performance.
  • Interprets test data and checks results against specifications, test procedures and data sheets to determine proper functioning and quality of product.
  • Deviates from standard test procedures as required to troubleshoot, locate and diagnose malfunctions within the unit requiring application of technical knowledge, skill and ingenuity. Realigns and readjusts unit as required.
  • Designates rework instructions where necessary and retest work after rework.
  • Stamps and otherwise approves test results. Records test data and submit test failure/acceptance reports and notifies supervisor of unusual conditions or undesirable trends.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years’ experience as a Test Technician in a manufacturing environment or in the military
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA citizenship.
  • Security Clearance will be required for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree or Technical Degree in Electrical Technology
  • Military Electronic Schools or Electronic Training from military
  • Current Active Security Clearance
  • Four (4) years as a Test Technician in a manufacturing environment or in the military
  • Experience in defense or aerospace industry
  • Experience tuning RF circuits
  • Should be able to setup and know how to operate a Phase Network Analyzer (PNA) or Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)
