Cobham ISS is seeking an Engineering Technical Writer to lead engineering initiatives, bids and proposal, and white papers. Gather requirements, analyze, design and facilitate engineering management reporting solutions and the processes. They should analyze engineering performance, engineering data, and financial data to measure organization’s present and estimate its future operational and financial performance.

The Technical writer will be responsible in analyzing data, utilizing intelligence techniques to determine patterns, root cause for any data discrepancies that may be present. The objective of the Technical writer will be to improve engineering’s key KPI performance, creating standard bids and proposals, analyzing engineering data, monitoring variances, and identifying trends

Essential Functions:

  • Preparation of bids, proposals, test documents, procedures, processes, and white papers
  • Develop, prepare and maintain periodic engineering reporting.
  • Knowledge of Test equipment including:  Environmental Screening equipment, RF, Digital
  • Knowledge and Experience with Labview programming is a plus
  • Provide data driven analysis and support across a variety of engineering processes to improve customer focus, efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of these processes.
  • Support data standards to improve quality of data, speed to analytics, reporting, execution, and scalability.
  • Work directly with internal and external customers and assess requirements based on strategic initiatives and customer needs, assess feasibility, cost and risk factors.
  • Build and manage analytical reporting models.
  • Develop necessary data cleansing, statistical, validation and reporting processes
Job Requirements - Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Analytical skills, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills
  • Product Life Cycle understanding from Bids to End of Life
  • Technical Report Writing
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team contributor.
  • Able to meet and maintain productivity standards in a multitask environment
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, good oral and written communication skills; have a high level of interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal partners
  • Excellent critical thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
