Cobham’s Integrated Electronic Solutions’ (EIS) business is a
leading supplier of integrated RF solutions and high power, solid
state broadband transmitters for EW and Radar applications and
antennas and precision positioners both for standalone aperture and
positioner requirements as well as integrated sensor systems across
many high performance applications. The EIS business is
experiencing exciting growth and is recruiting a
Test Engineer
Senior to design, develop, and implement detailed test
strategies and test techniques to support the integration and
acceptance testing of electronic assemblies, subassemblies and
systems for use in electronic warfare systems. This position is
located in Lansdale, PA. The EIS engineering team is very
strong, encompassing over 100 engineering professionals including
systems, software, RF, power amplifier, antenna, mechanical,
reliability, test engineers and other specialties, located in
Lansdale as well as across several other sites.
This role reports to the Lansdale Test and Technical Supportability
Manager. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong
engineering and programmatic background who has experience as a Test
Engineer supporting a diverse product portfolio through all stages
of the product lifecycle with proven capabilities to work across
functions in a matrix organization to achieve operational
results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide test engineering expertise and support while working
collaboratively with cross-functional and cross-site teams as
needed to achieve customer satisfaction and operational
excellence delivering results supporting business improvement
objectives.
- Design, develop, and implement robust and reliable test
solutions, plans and procedures in support of a fast-paced RF
production environment. Solutions range from developing manual
test set-ups to fully automated test equipment, Test Program
Sets (TPSs), at the component, assembly and system levels.
- Create test conditions to automate highly repetitive RF
S-Parameter measurements in the Microwave and millimeter wave
range.
- Perform troubleshooting of hardware test failures to determine
root cause identification and resolution
- Perform technical assignments of an investigatory or test
nature requiring minimal direction from senior engineering
personnel.
- Responsible for the transition and training of new and legacy
hardware to operations personnel.
- Support Engineering and Operations with testing outside the
normal test process, create test setups and test procedures as
required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires an Associate’s degree in electronics and at least
eight (8) years of experience as a Test Engineer designing,
developing, and implementing detailed test strategies and test
techniques to support the integration and acceptance testing of
RF microwave and millimeter wave electronic assemblies,
subassemblies and systems
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex performance and
acceptance test specifications and procedures
- Ability to develop test solutions with minimal supervision
- Experience in gathering, processing, and analyzing RF signals
in the Microwave and millimeter wave domains using various
measurement instrumentation (Network Analyzers, Spectrum
Analyzers, Oscilloscopes etc.)
- Experience with automated test station hardware design,
specifically switch matrices and various communication protocols
(LXI, GPIB, IP, CAN bus)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSEE or related degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
and at least five (5) years of experience as a Test Engineer
designing, developing, and implementing detailed test strategies
and test techniques to support the integration and acceptance
testing of RF and microwave electronic assemblies, subassemblies
and systems for use in electronic warfare.
- Experience with computer aided design tools design (CAD) and
implementation of test fixtures.
- Familiarity with DoD industry and DSS security procedures
(NISPOM)
- Knowledge of HP Basic.
- Highly proficient in the measurement and analysis of RF
signals in the microwave and millimeter wave domains using
various measurement instruments (PNA, Spectrum Analyzers, ENAs,
etc.)
- Proficient in automating acceptance test procedures using VB.
NET utilizing established test executive.
- Active DOD SECRET security clearance
