Cobham SATCOM is looking for talented RF/Microwave Engineers for our R&D Antennas department to further strengthen the RF/mmW group.


You will work with the newest generation of VSAT antennas (Ku/Ka band) developed by Cobham SATCOM. These products represent an important share of our product range for maritime and land-mobile applications. These applications use the frequency range covering from 10 MHz to 31 GHz.


There will be a variety of tasks primarily activities on VSAT antenna systems.


The tasks depend on your background and experience and can be within these areas:

  • Next Generation Rx –and Tx electronics in the frequency range 10MHz – 6 GHz

    • Rx-chain, LNA, Mixers, MMIC’s, filters
    • Tx-chain, Attenuators, MMIC’s, filters
    • VCXO’s, LO’s, PLL’s, clock cleaners, clock distribution

  • Higher frequency projects (10 GHz – 31 GHz)
    • Microstrip splitters/couplers/filters/launchers and EM simulation (2.5/3D)

    • Rx-chain, Low Noise Amplifiers, attenuators, phase adjusters
    • Tx-chain, VGA’s, PA’s, Beam Former IC’s, Array antennas
    • VCXO’s, LO’s, PLL’s, Multipliers, clock cleaners, clock distribution

  • Systemdesign – air interface – and Rx/Tx chain calculations.
  • Investigation and measurements on BUC’s (Block Up Converters, 5-40W) and LNB’s (Low Noise Block converters) for the Ku –and Ka-band

  • GPS, Glonass and Beidou among others.
  • RF/mmW assistance during type approval phases.
  • Yield analysis.
  • Product documentation for manufacturing and support during production startup of new PCB’s and products.


As an RF Development Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include

  • M.Sc., B.Sc. or Ph.D in electrical engineering (RF) – could be newly educated or have several/many years of experience.

  • Experience with developing circuits in baseband and L-band.

  • Knowledge of developing circuits within Ku –and Ka-band

  • Experience with EMC on PCB level
  • Profound knowledge of RF/Microwave measurement methods (1 GHz – 40 GHz) and operation of spectrum and network analyzers.

  • Experience with system integration
  • You are focused and energetic and good at communicating with your colleagues.

  • You understand link budgets/RF system budgets, you are familiar with areas like digital electronics, power supply and mechanics.

  • You have problem solving capabilities.
  • You can communicate (written and oral) in Danish and English.

  • You are a dedicated team player and you practice knowledge sharing.

  • Knowledge of Power Supply and Digital HW

  • Array (Phased Array) antennas Ku/Ka-band

  • Knowledge of VSAT (Ku/Ka-band)
  • Knowledge of good product construction.

  • Eager to learn about system components of a VSAT antenna

  • HFSS simulation tool


Software skills

  • Cadence – Capture Orcad diagram tool

  • MathLab
  • Python
