Cobham Aviation Services are recruiting for a Simulation & Modelling Engineer who will be required to drive a development engineering work package, aligned to a key NATO program.
The business have recently been awarded a contract for the design and development of a range of operational training electronic warfare pods by the MoD on behalf of NATO. This will provide realistic training in electronic warfare to the member countries, in order to be able to operate in a real time situation.
This position reports into the Systems Engineering Lead, is based at our Bournemouth International Airport site, and requires minimal travel.
As a Simulation & Modelling Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering or engineering related discipline.
All applicants must be able to obtain Security Clearance.
Simulation of complex wireless systems (Preferably LTE)
MATLAB (Preferably Simulink)
Link budget analysis
Understanding of Antennas and installed performance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to team members and management
As a Simulation & Modelling Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:
- Own the link budget
Own the end-to-end system simulation
Create the required scenarios to model
Create and validate the simulation
Discuss and agree interfaces with other engineering disciplines
Provide regular outputs to influence and test designs
