Cobham Plc are recruiting for a Record To Report (R2R) Assistant to provide financial and clerical support by ensuring transactions are managed and controlled by verifying and reconciling them in accordance with established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.


The position will be based in Wimborne, Dorset however for the first few months the role will be based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. This is to support the transfer of the Marlow back-office finance function and transfer of the role on an ongoing basis to Cobham Plc in Wimborne. This will be an opportunity for an ambitious individual to be involved in a key change management project in Cobham and develop their skillset further.


Candidates must be flexible to commute and/or live away from home during this initial period and have access to their own vehicle. Cobham will cover travel and/or subsistence expenses during initial role location at Marlow, as required.


As a Record to Report Assistant, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Professional or near qualified accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)

  • Experience in transaction processing & preparation of management accounts

  • and UK Statutory Accounts
  • Consolidation experience in a large multinational group

  • Strong UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge
  • Management reporting experience
  • Direct and indirect tax reporting experience

As a Record to Report Assistant, your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Support a robust and effective control environment

  • Participate in knowledge transfer from current business finance teams

  • Support the key performance indicators by effective delivery in the Record-to-Report area.

  • Assist with the internal audit and period-end compliance

  • Complete R2R activities including:
    • Record transactions (including posting journals)

    • Perform Intercompany reconciliations & MPC Matching

    • Analyse and Reconcile Accounts
    • Period close & consolidations
    • Calculate accruals, provisions & revenue recognition

    • Compliance test and controls
    • Standard Financial / Regulatory reporting
    • Routine Management reporting & analysis
    • Prepare financial commentaries and non-financial data for reporting

    • Record Fixed Asset acquisition, disposal, valuation & reporting

    • Inventory accounting and valuation
    • Perform Banking and Cash Management activities e.g. process bank uploads, perform bank reconciliations, manage cash position
