Cobham Mission Systems is seeking a Quality Program Manager. This individual will work for a dynamic team in a fast-paced, aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. This position is located in Davenport, Iowa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Quality Programs team.
  • Administer direct supervisory responsibilities for personnel including selection, hiring, training, development, tasking, performance evaluations, and promotional recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and keep employees informed of policies and operational changes.
  • Ensure timely support and flow down of goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Review business opportunities and utilize team to provide inputs on behalf of Quality including compliance matrices, risk register inputs, resource planning, schedule inputs, lessons learned capture/review, and proposal volume inputs.
  • Develop and execute action plans with Sales, Program, and Engineering teams to reduce profitability risks and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
  • Ensure project/program related Quality tasks are fully staffed.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure internal/external quality requirements and Business Management System (BMS) processes are being adhered to.
  • Monitor project/program health with specific focus on quality; Raise concerns to appropriate parties and create action plans to address proactively.
  • Act as the Quality point of contact to customers, which may require attendance at customer meetings, providing reports to customers, etc.
  • Advise leadership on customer/regulatory trends related to Quality.
  • Develop/review processes, procedures, and work instructions as needed.
  • Analyze data and provide reports as needed.
  • Participate in or lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts with a multi-disciplined team.
  • Participate in or lead continuous improvement initiatives such as tactics, KAIZEN events, work streams, etc.
  • Prepare and manage budget and capital appropriations.
  • All other related duties as assigned. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years Quality Engineering experience 
  • 5+ years working knowledge of project/program lifecycles through production readiness
  • 5+ years supervisory experience.
  • 2+ years Project Management experience.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US.  In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning/Production Part Approval Process (APQP/PPAP) principles and use of associated tools (e.g., AS9145)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Trained Internal Auditor.
  • ASQ CQE.
  • Proficiency in GD&T.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • IPT experience including understanding the roles and responsibilities of working within a matrixed organization
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
  • Effective verbal/written communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in an office or indoor industrial environment.
  • ISO 9001:2015/AS9100 Rev D or MIL-STD experience.
