Cobham Aerospace Connectivity are looking for a System Simulation Engineer. They will own and take responsibility for the link budget and end-to-end system simulation
This role is based in either of our sites in Leatherhead or Marlow
Cobham Aerospace Connectivity design and manufacture active and passive avionics antennas and electronic control systems for military and civil communications, navigation and search and rescue applications. We pioneered frequency agile VHF tuneable antennas and continue to be a key supplier to major avionics companies. Our GPS anti-jam technology utilises state of the art DSP algorithms with an active antenna to eliminate both narrow-band and wide-band jamming signals. We have world leading technology in Ground Penetrating Radar and RF interference mitigation. Both military and civil users rely on our direction finding systems for search and rescue operations.
As a System Simulation Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Simulation of complex wireless systems (Preferably LTE)
MATLAB (Preferably Simulink)
Link budget analysis
Understanding of Antennas and installed performance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to team members and management
Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering or engineering related discipline.
All applicants must be able to obtain Security Clearance.
As a Systems Simulation Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:
Own the link budget
Own the end-to-end system simulation
Create the required scenarios to model
Create and validate the simulation
Discuss and agree interfaces with other engineering disciplines
Provide regular outputs to influence and test designs
