As a part of Cobham Aviation Services (UK) we’re currently recruiting for a Fitter to be responsible for conducting all maintenance tasks on rotary aircraft in accordance with approved Data contained within OEM Maintenance Manuals, requirements of Part 145, Helicopter Services Maintenance Organisation Exposition or any other company procedures.

 

This role is based in the West Midlands.

 

As a Fitter (Mechanical Aircraft Engineer) your skills and qualifications will ideally include: 


Essential:

Completion of a Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship

Aircraft Mechanical Engineering experience

Recent experience within an aviation maintenance environment

Familiar with aircraft maintenance control and management systems

Able to remain flexible and work a shift pattern

Good working knowledge of H &S policy and procedures

Strong safety culture

Strong work ethic

Team player

Flexibility in regards to routine

Be able to achieve UK MOD Security Clearance 

Desirable

Rotary aircraft experience

Experience of service or commercial aircraft engineering/operations 

Part 145 Human Factors trained

Computer literate on Microsoft based systems


As a Fitter your main responsibilities will involve:

Reporting of unservice ability of Aircraft, Equipment, and Services identified during the course of his duty.

Secondary duties allocated to them by the Chief Engineer or his superiors. For example but not limited to, POL, Publications, Tool Inventories etc.

Ensure that they adhere to all HR policies and procedures as defined within the HR and Company Administration Manual.

Ensure that they adhere to the Company’s Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures and safe working practices.

Actively promote the Helicopter Services Safety Management System and Occurrence Scheme through proactive, open and timely reporting. Reporting any incidence or occurrence that may affect flight safety, endanger persons or led to an unsafe condition.

Providing Line Operational support including aircraft movements, handling and refuelling.

Accomplishing any other duties within their capability as may be reasonably directed or delegated by the Chief Engineer or Deputy Chief Engineer
