Job Description

As a Continuous Improvement Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering business process improvement by leading Lean or Six Sigma initiatives including partnering with leaders to identify improvement opportunities and driving activities that support and align to strategic objectives. This includes engaging functional leaders and employees in focused Lean or Six Sigma efforts; conducting current state Value Stream analysis; identifying and delivering on strategic improvement opportunities that result in reduction of waste; evaluating process improvement ideas; using strategy deployment to facilitate development of long range planning; utilizing advanced improvement methodologies to drive results that achieve our business process improvement targets; serving as a Lean Six Sigma resource, supporting employee training and development efforts in Lean and Six Sigma, Six Sigma tools, Kaizen, value stream mapping, problem solving, 5S, material flow, SMED,  causal analysis, SPC, ANOVA.; facilitating Kaizen events and managing projects across functional disciplines; working to establish standard work.

10% travel expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading all phases of continuous improvement projects using formal methodologies (DMAIC, PDCA,  Kaizen, causal analysis and corrective action)
  • Translating strategic objectives into operational plans 
  • Teaching, mentoring, and coaching others on continuous improvement and elimination of waste
  • Engaging with individuals throughout the organization, including manufacturing personnel, engineers, executives, and professional staff to drive continuous improvement activities

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6 - 8 years of Continuous Improvement experience using DMAIC and lean tools, including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving, 5S, Material Flow and SMED. Experience should also include facilitating coaching/mentoring in these areas.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • A Lean/Six Sigma certification, including the completion of strategic level projects with measurable results
  • US Citizenship required in order to obtain/maintain clearance eligibility
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Requirements:

  • Masters degree
  • Black Belt certification
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong influencing abilities in a matrix and indirect reporting relationship environment
  • Strong coaching and mentoring abilities
  • Proficiency with Minitab
