JOB TITLE: Facilities Assistant III
The following statements are intended
to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not

Maintains and repairs the
facility’s structure, equipment and grounds, including , electrical and HVAC;
works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repairs as
required; make periodic and special inspections of the premise to determine repair
work when necessary; work from blueprints, drawings and rough sketches.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:
Perform highly complex semi-skilled repairs to building fixtures, electrical fixtures, and all HVAC systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair heat pumps, package units, air handlers, and chillers.
Rebuilding and/or replacement of electrical equipment, parts, fuses, wiring, and machines including control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, and electronic controls.
Process for conducting periodic preventative maintenance to include electrical and mechanical inspections, disassembly/reassembly of subsystems, proper lubrication, and testing.
Complete all work orders within a timely manner meeting or exceeding pre-established deadlines to reduce downtime.
Perform repairs on fleet vehicles; ensure vehicle maintenance records are up to date.
Provide maintenance on manufacturing equipment as necessary.
Perform chemical change-out and replenishment for manufacturing areas; fulfill maintenance requests.
Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices.
Improve and maintain 5S in your area; make suggestions for improvements.
Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area as well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving.
Collaborate in team meetings and activities, including SET team support as appropriate.
Notifies appropriate supervision of any electrical and/or mechanical issues that arise
Learns new and existing equipment and systems
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Performs moderately complex maintenance;
Provides assistance for the Manager of Facilities when necessary;
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned such as workstation set up.
MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMETNAL CRITERIA:

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (The
following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrated through experience,
education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.)
Four (4) years of related maintenance technician experience, including electrical, and HVAC systems; high school diploma or general education required; HVAC certification an EPA Refrigerant Certification preferred.
Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone or in person; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read, interpret and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities; proficientEnglish reading level to understand terminology used on the job and within the organization;
Computer skills: ability to work in a network environment, using Microsoft Suite such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point;
Math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs;
Equipment skills: Intermediate knowledge of machines and tools including their design, uses, repair and maintenance; ability to use hand tools such as hammer and screw driver wrench; good eye-to-hand coordination.
Time Management and Organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to cope with rapidly changing priorities; ability to prioritize workload on a daily basis;

May be required to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship.
