We are Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions (CAES), a technologically advanced electronics company employing more than 3,600 talented makers, thinkers, innovators, and doers nationwide. We build things that solve challenging problems from deep space to the depths of the ocean. We serve customers in spanning defense, aerospace, security, medical, and industrial markets.

Develops implements and/or maintains one or a combination of accounting systems. Prepares journal entries; maintains and reconciles ledger accounts. Prepares financial statements and variance reports as requested. May do analysis and prepare special reports. May interpret reports and records for managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in Month-end close by processing journal entries and account reconciliations for intercompany transactions, prepaid expenses, allocations, and miscellaneous accruals.
  • Makes correcting journal entries as assigned and recommends accruals and adjustments, as needed.
  • May be involved in reviewing, tracking, and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations.
  • Prepares ad hoc reports and variance analysis for management review.
  • Assists in preparing documentation for internal and external audits and seeks out process improvements to ensure compliance and increase efficiency.
  • Assists with year-end close and preparation of the annual budget.
  • Must have strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Responsible for ensuring all accounting activity is accurate and in compliance with company policies and regulatory policies.
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related area and experience as described herein.
  • Experience in government audits is desirable.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Government Security Clearance:
  • Certified Public Accountant designation is desirable.
Computer Skills:
  • Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Office software, specifically Word and Access, and 10-key by touch.
  • Previous experience with Sage Fixed Asset S/W, Visual Manufacturing or other ERP systems a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, required.
