Helps coordinate the overall flow of materials, components and
parts throughout the Value Stream manufacturing process in
accordance with Production, Test and Shipping schedules or
department priorities; complies and maintains manual or computerized
records; requisitions materials and supplies while performing a wide
variety of administrative support activities on behalf of a staff
employee, Manager or Director; serves as primary point of
administrative contact for internal and external constituencies;
performs work of average difficulty.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Review production scheduling and related information, in
accordance with VSM’s weekly plan, and confer with department
supervisors to help determine any needed requirements. Status,
track and identify any overdue materials or components and
provide, said, status on any issues that may affect safety or
- Help audit, compile, scan and maintain manual or computerized
records relating to; material inventory and process production
reports, accounting of parts status and location of materials,
input of and updates on employee training records and
certifications, oven and fridge log daily entries and other
related information gathering activities.
- May monitor and control movement of material and parts,
interdepartmentally, using manual or computerized tools while,
also, managing the disposition of equipment sent to other areas
for calibration, sanitization or repair. Prepare and maintain
status of Purchase Reqs.
- Participate in safety training and attend monthly Set Team
meeting in order to disseminate pertinent information relating
to any SHE, HR and Security updates. Follow up on any required
actions or activities assigned from attending this monthly
- Participate in Six Sigma, 6S, and other process improvement
activities. Help in the planning and implementation of quarterly
celebrations and other team building activities.
- On a weekly basis distribute smocks to employees and receive
in used smocks for pickup by vendor.
- Participate, with other assigned Value Streams, in the
changing out of the ‘sticky mats’
- Participate, with other assigned Value Streams, in the
ordering, stocking and preparation of coffee, twice a shift, so
as to be available for employee breaks.
- Insure that any needed office supplies, first aid and other
consumables are readily stocked and maintained.
- Help, when needed, in the labeling of any benches, carts or
other Value Stream assets.
- Act as a liaison, between departments, for non-sensitive
issues that can be handled without involving internal
- Proactively assess any needs, discrepancies or issues and
provide feedback to Management so as to address and resolve any
roadblocks to success.
- Assist with Production Control Specialist duties as required.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Confident self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Proactive in the ability to anticipate, and plan, for any
incidents or events.

- One (1) year of related clerical experience; High school
diploma or GED;
- Office Equipment skills: ability to use general office
equipment such as personal computer, copier, phone, fax, etc.;
- Proofreading skills: ability verify data input and correct
errors; ability to locate source document errors;
- Communication skills: ability to receive messages by
telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask
questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to
read technical publications; communicate across organizational
levels; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and
respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation
- Math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in
all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and
decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw
and interpret bar graphs;
- Computer skills: working in a networked environment using a
Windows and/or Windows like interface using Microsoft office
suite; ability to use SAP enterprise wide information system;
working knowledge of Anzio, a plus;
