Program Quality Engineer partnering with Program Management and Contracts to provide a vital link between REMS and our customers with a passionate focus on customer satisfaction. Participate and accountable for complete program quality life cycle management from proposal and purchase order award processes to hardware delivery including customer returned materials. Develop, evaluate, revise and apply technical quality assurance protocol and methods to design, inspect and test in-process materials, production equipment and finished goods; ensure compliance with quality standards and applicable government regulations; perform analysis and identify trends for in-process material recommend corrective actions; ensure that established manufacturing inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed; formulate policy in the process of analyzing, planning product quality and operations planning.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Conduct reliability analysis on the life cycle of product and identify failure analysis, to understand the overall quality of the manufactured item.
  • Manage the statistical analysis on products to determine the patterns seen and unseen providing insight to the lifecycle of the product.
  • Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices.
  • Improve and maintain 5S in your area, make suggestions for improvements.
  • Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area as well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving.
  • Collaborate in team meetings and activities, including SET team support as appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
  • Performs work of high complexity; uses discretion and judgment to develop processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
Minimum Job Qualifications:  (The following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrate through experience, education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.)
  • Eight (8) years of  related experience in quality assurance; Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Engineering, Science, Math or  related field, required;
  • Experience with proposals and purchase order review and approvals to clearly define and execute the program quality requirements via program quality plans, including AS9102 FAI’s.
  • Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program requirements.
  • Proven experience in managing program warranty returns, applicable metrics and drive holistic root cause and corrective action (RCCA) to reduce warranty returns and costs to improve operational productivity and product design including customer scorecards and applicable Quality Initiatives with department functional leadership.
  • Design and implement methods and procedures for testing and inspecting the quality level of products and production equipment by partnering with functional organizations to drive to drive continuous improvement.
  • Review manufacturing documentation ensuring the necessary criteria and provisions are incorporated to permit effective inspection and testing of materials.
  • Analyze reports, data and returned product to drive root cause and implement corrective actions for procedural, product or process opportunities.
  • Leadership skills: ability to lead, coach and mentor staff; ability to inspire and motivate others;
  • Technical skills: Experience with AS9100, ISO9001, IPC J-STD-001  and MIL-PRF-38534 standards; may be required to become a green or black belt in Six Sigma.
  • Good communication skills;
  • Windows and/or Windows like interface using Power Point, Excel. Word and Outlook software programs; ability to use Enterprise-wide information systems such as SAP; proficient use of Fastlook and Anzio;
  • Math & Analytical skills: Intermediate to advanced mathematical skills, including geometry, and statistics; review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; ability to collect, analyze and summarize information to a general understanding; ability to think abstractly and separate complex ideas into simple elements;
  • Be organized and maintain good time management skills
  • Remain engaged, proactive and positive even in tough circumstances; own assignments and be fully accountable for their success; align actions, behaviors and conversations to what matters most; bring out the best in others and recognize the value in every person’s contributions; ability to work independently as well in a team environment.
