Manage daily inventory and logistics functions by reviewing daily cycle counts, identify variance causes, ensure variance resolution, corrective actions, and reports to appropriate management; monitor daily cycle count completion rate; prepare cycle count variance and status reports; coordinate physical inventory reconciliation and establish improvements for future physical inventories; establish new material planning methods.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Lead a group of 3 Cycle Counter/Inventory Assistants.
  • Analyze inventory from production and/or development; monitor daily cycle counts, analyze variances and reconcile discrepancies. Determine root causes of inventory variances and propose or implement as applicable appropriate corrective actions.
  • Develop SAP material workflow documentation to ensure the integrity of processes and procedures;
  • Lead breakthrough inventory projects within the Materials Department;
  • Oversee computer database maintenance for inventory items and part numbers using Enterprise-wide SAP system. Make authorized additions and modifications to databases within the organization’s computer-based inventory control systems; study inventory reports regularly to determine variance items and make adjustments in system; provide inventory reports and analysis to management;
  • Perform complex SAP Shortage Simulation Analysis which includes importing and exporting data into SAP Customized Session; develop and publish weekly Fab Areas planning requirements by extracting and organizing component requirements data driven by Shortage Simulation Analysis.
  • Conduct frequent partial physical inventory audits to verify accuracy of computer records; coordinate a complete count of all physical inventory annually.
  • Establish, implement and monitor part planning guidelines for purchased materials such as days supply, safety stock, min/max, order policy and reorder point. Participate with manager in determining purchase requirements for blanket orders.
  • Monitor orders for adherence to quoted lead times, prices and product specifications; track order lead times on inventory items; follow up with orders not received by promise date.
  • Identify inventory restocking requirements, place orders with purchasing when the established “low” point is reached and submit purchase requests for approval.
  • Ensure accurate replenishment and perpetual inventory; resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Generate reconciliation of shipments, material transfers, part transfers and/or returns.
  • Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices.
  • Improve and maintain 5S in your area; make suggestions for improvements.
  • Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area as well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving.
  • Collaborate in team meetings and activities, including SET team support as appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications: (The following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.)
  • Four (4) years of  inventory, materials or purchasing procedures experience within a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of inventory control  procedures including coordinating the annual physical inventory and analysis; understanding of supply chain principles including forecasting and replenishment, a plus;  Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, Finance, Materials Management, Supply Chain, Operations or related field, desirable;
  • Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read technical, interpret and comprehend complex written and verbal instructions as well as publications; communicate across organizational levels; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities;
  • Math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Computer skills:  working in a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows-like interface using MS Office Suite software applications at an intermediate to advanced level; ability to use Enterprise-wide ERP/MRP systems such as SAP; proficient in use of computerized inventory systems;
  • Analytical skills: strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to analyze, compare and interpret detailed information; review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; detail-orientation a must;
  • Time Management and Organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality;
