Cobham is seeking a Accounting Manager located at our Fullerton, CA location to direct all aspects of the Accounting unit/shared services environment; select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the unit; oversee the development of financial accounting systems required to maintain reporting requirements; provide tax, insurance and other reports required by governmental regulations; manage the Accounting staff in the collection, processing, summarizing, analyzing and reporting of all accounting and financial activities of the company.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial reports and required forecasting:
  • Daily/Weekly financial reports prepared timely and accurately
  • Monthly group reporting accurately completed with required deadlines
  • Provide accurate & timely monthly forecasting and other group financial information
  • Annual departmental budgets and value stream business budget   
  • Provide decision support to site management
  • Analyze and report on trends and activities:
  • Accurately prepare Company metrics by established deadlines following month close
  • Month end analysis and review to provide management details on financial health
  • Analysis of Budget vs. Actual spending across all departments driving effective cost management & accountability
  • Gather and report on metrics for Key Process Indicators monthly/weekly as possible
  • Prepare capital appropriation requests and investment appraisal
  • Coordinate accounting activities with other departments, affiliates, and parent company:
  • Accurate & timely completion of statutory accounts & taxation returns within deadline
  • All control accounts agreed & reviewed on a monthly basis including aged GRNI
  • Work cross functionally to instill Cobham values & pursue GPTW
  • Manage banking activities & drive efficient cash management
  • Manage bank accounts & prepare timely bank reconciliations
  • Daily cash reporting & periodic cash forecasting
  • Manage team of Accounting Assistants ensuring objectives are flowed down & development plans are put in place.
  • Coordinate & monitor AR & AP daily activities including sales invoicing, credit & collection, supplier invoice processing, payment & payroll processing 
  • Serve as AR and AP back up as needed and maintain proficiency in those roles

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies/Accounting/ Finance.
  • Five (5) + years accounting experience.
  • Experience in managing an accounting team supervising activities including payroll, general ledger, accounts receivable & accounts payable
  • Experience in general accounting and has completed closing the periodic accounts.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing management accounts & providing financial analysis.
  • Experience completing and submitting corporate reporting packages
  • Experience preparing, reviewing & analyzing financial plans, budgets & cash forecasts.
  • Experience dealing with sales tax and can prepare other required statutory returns. 
  • Experience with internal & external auditors
  • Experience with implementing process improvements & maintaining best practice internal controls
  • Experience at the immediate level with Word, Excel, & PowerPoint; including Excel formulas, V look ups and pivot tables)
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US.  In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA
  • MBA
  • Accounting experience within manufacturing business
