Working from within a team of tight-knit and multi-disciplinary
aerospace engineers, your mission is to support the Head of Design in the
day-to-day management of the design department.
The role provides guidance and technical advice to Design Engineers and
our Maintenance Organisations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
This role will see you overseeing and actively working on both large and
small design projects on our B717, BAe146, Dash 8 and CL604 aircraft. Specifically, you will:
- Provide mentorship,
guidance and technical advice to Design Engineers
- Carry out design
modifications and repairs of aircraft for regulatory approval
- Perform second
checking of modifications and repairs of aircraft prior to regulatory
- Project manage
design support for aircraft in heavy maintenance both in Australia and
- Liaise with CASA
and manufacturers (Boeing, BAe Systems, Bombardier) as required
- Perform other duties as required by
the Head of Design.
Ideally, we’re looking for someone who possesses:
- Tertiary qualifications in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical
Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- Hold design authority under CASR Part 21
- Significant experience on aircraft structures design
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to
communicate across all levels of the business and with key external bodies
(e.g. – CASA and manufacturers)
- Excellent project and time management skills
