Cobham Aerospace Connectivity are looking for a Quality Engineer this role is manage QMS Support process, QMS Internal Audit system, Document Management, Customer Approvals / Questionnaires. To be a Key Customer Focal and drive standardised customer related RCCA. To manage Quality Records system through external service providers and Scrap Administration process. To maintain a software library for release from design point of us and manage the equipment calibration system site.

 

This role is based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire  

 

Our technology

Cobham Aerospace Connectivity design and manufacture active and passive avionics antennas and electronic control systems for military and civil communications, navigation and search and rescue applications.  We pioneered frequency agile VHF tuneable antennas and continue to be a key supplier to major avionics companies.  Our GPS anti-jam technology utilises state of the art DSP algorithms with an active antenna to eliminate both narrow-band and wide-band jamming signals.  We have world leading technology in Ground Penetrating Radar and RF interference mitigation. Both military and civil users rely on our direction finding systems for search and rescue operations.

  

As a Quality Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Understanding of Aerospace, Quality System and Regulatory Standards.

  • Knowledge of MRP and IT software solutions / implementation.

  • Experience of Customer Interface.

  • Understanding of RCPS techniques.

  • EASA Part 21 and 145 trained.

  • Proven program and time management skills, highly organised.

  • Understanding of quality improvement tools.

  • AS9100D Internal Auditor trained

 As a Quality Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Support maintenance and improvement in QMS procedures and processes.

  • Re-enforce Quality Culture through training, support and Internal Audit.

  • Drive effective Root Cause and Corrective action through the organisation.

  • Maintain customer communications - Customer Focal for assigned customers

  • Manage an effective and efficient calibration system, ensuring control of cost.

  • Tracking and communication of airworthiness changes, service bulletins etc.

  • Maintenance of certifying staff approval, continuation training and audits.

  • Introduction of software solutions for Quality processes, eg. Audit, FAI and NCR systems.

  • Management of Records for Quality Department.

  • Creation/Approval of Defect Investigation Reports and Scrap Administration.

  • Maintenance of the Software Library

  • Customer Reviews and Scorecard Management improvements.

  • Calibration process standardisation and cost savings.

  • Audit conducted and findings addressed to planned dates.

  • DIRs, Scrap Certs, BMS documents and Software released within SLA

  • Equipment Approvals current ref. airworthiness changes, service bulletins etc

  • Quality Records accessible, retrievable and legible.
