Cobham Mission Systems are recruiting for a Senior Business Development Manager who will be responsible for driving revenue growth by leading front-end pursuits and campaigns for both new technology for existing customers (Business Development) and new technology for new customers (Market Development).  This role is for our Weapons Carriage & Release products. The position is based in Wimborne, Dorset but will require frequent international travel.

 

As a Senior Business Development Manager, your skills and experience will include: -

  • Extensive experience as a business developer working autonomously on high-value campaigns, preferably within a military aerospace environment.

  • Experience of air-domain weapon carriage & release products.

  • Experience of engaging with senior-level customer stakeholders within the global market place.

  • Experience as a Capture Manager using LCM, Shipley or similar life-cycle management processes.

  • Knowledge of the weapons carriage and release market, the customer community and their operational requirements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Commercial acumen and negotiation competencies.

As a Senior Business Development Manager, your main responsibilities will involve: -

  • Establishing long-term relationships with key decision makers of customers and end-users.

  • Use of Cobham Business Development and Capture processes to identify, qualify and execute new opportunities.

  • Accountability for the delivery of Order Intake, in accordance with the budget.

  • Developing robust solutions to customer requirements and production of compelling business cases for Private Venture funding.

  • Acting as 'voice of the customer' encouraging team behaviours that focus on adding value and delivering customer benefits.

  • Preparation and submission of proposal documents to customers.

  • Capture Team Manager for high-value/complex bids.

  • Use of Customer Relationship Management database.

  • Contributing to internal business strategy development including market analysis, product and technology roadmaps, and other marketing activities.
