Cobham SATCOM is looking for an Operations Project Manager NPI to join our Operations Project Management team in order to secure New Product Introduction and strengthen our goals of driving product to marked, ensure all derivable without jeopardizing quality and time to marked. This position involves many development opportunities – both personally as well as career-wise
As a Project Manager in Operations, you will be responsible for all combined activities in Operations during New product development or during internal Operations project. Responsibilities will also be including all activities in outsourcing to external worldwide partners or transfer with our internal manufacturing facilities
You will be following the product from birth, through design phase, proto builds, release, outsource/transfer, maturation and handover to normal production. Collaborating across functional boundaries
This role is based in KGS. Lyngby, Copenhagen.

As an Operations Project Manager NPI your key skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Degree/certification in Project Management
  • Proven Project management experience
  • Experience in electronics and/or mechanical production is mandatory
  • Experience with product release from NPI project to mass production
  • Experience with documentation for production, eg. Product assemble instruction, flow charts, production tools
  • Understanding of logistics
  • Understanding of product structures
  • Skilled IT user using various systems, particularly MS Excel and Project management tools
  • English and Danish on a negotiation level – Both spoken and written
  • Product lifecycle management

As an Operations Project Manager NPI your main responsibilities will involve:

  • You will be working in close collaboration with the R&D project managers and your colleagues in the rest of the Operations team, as well as Sales and Business Development. You will be responsible for planning, budgeting and full project management of all Operations related tasks projects in-house and towards external suppliers and manufacturers.
  • You will track project budget during development phase and secure stability, quality and yield of product before release to mass production, including prototype runs (FAI) at suppliers. You will ensure DFx involvement from Operations in all product designs and secure required documentation for production, e.g. product assembly instructions and production tools is in place.
  • You will in an engaging and collaborative way, manage the Operations project team which consist of colleagues from Material Project Management, Test development, Global Industrializing, Manufacturing Engineering, Production & Documentation Control
  • In an environment where targets and scope tents to change, you will be navigating the team, the schedule and all the deliverables to ensure a project on time and within scope.
