Cobham announces that the three major contracts it has been awarded since June 2016 total in excess of $1.4bn
Farnborough - Cobham is proud to announce that
the three major contracts won since June 2016 totaled over $1.4bn.
Contracts in the last month include the AVIATOR S Aerospace
Communications and Radio and Audio Integrated Management Systems
(RAIMS) for Airbus and the Australian QantasLink extension. These
contracts reflect Cobham's position as a leading global technology
innovator and the commitment shown by the company to its customers
to provide world-class solutions.
The 10 year A$ 1.2 billion contract, which continues the
provision of airline services to QantasLink, will support their
fleet of 20 Boeing 717 aircraft to the end of 2026. The
Cobham-Qantas partnership commenced in 1991 and Cobham remains the
only third party trusted to operate under the Qantas brand, with
operations across Australia into all States and Territories
carrying more than 2 million passengers per year on behalf of
QantasLink.
The Airbus AVIATOR 200 S contract, which will see the Single
Aisle & Long Range aircraft families being fitted with Cobham
communications technology from 2018, could be worth some USD $200
million with the potential for additional revenue as the demand for
Satcom capability on board aircraft increases.
The AVIATOR 200S shipset aims at providing voice and data
air-ground communication for the Aircraft Control Domain (ACD) and
the Airline Information Services Domain (AISD) as well as to the
Passenger Information and Entertainment Services Domain (PIESD) in
its alternate configuration (AVIATOR 700S).
The third contract won in June, also awarded to Cobham's
Communications and Connectivity sector by Airbus, is to supply its
new digital Radio and Audio Integrated Management System (RAIMS)
for the A320neo aircraft family, worth around $350m.
Cobham's RAIMS, already fitted on Airbus A380 and A350 XWB
aircraft series, offers savings in space, weight, amount of
equipment required, acquisition and operation costs, while offering
pilots a single point for communication control.
