Cobham showcases its talented women as role models to encourage more women in to the industry
Cobham plc is hosting a lunch on Thursday 19th July in celebration of the vital part women play in Cobham, as well as the aerospace and defence industry. Our event, hosted at Farnborough Air Show, will promote diversity and inclusion while demonstrating how this sector can be an exciting and fulfilling career.
Women of Cobham, apprentices to executive vice presidents, will come together to enjoy an afternoon among their industry peers to discuss the opportunities and challenges for women in our sector. Our aim is to create a sense of community, friendship and inclusion within Cobham and the industry. We feel it is vital for our female colleagues to know that there is support to grow a career in the aerospace & defence sector. Guest speaker Sarah Cruddas, English space journalist, broadcaster, TV presenter and ardent STEM promoter, will be discussing her experiences throughout her career.
‘Here at Cobham we recognise that we need to change as an organisation to become a top tier employer of choice for women. That change starts with an absolute commitment to promote women in aerospace, as demonstrated by our sponsorship of the International Aviation Women’s conference, being held Thursday morning at Farnborough Airshow. It is critical to have female role models within our business and the industry, to support and promote the growth of women in our sector. We’re continually investing in our talent, believing that a diverse and inclusive workforce fosters a culture of innovation and understanding and gives us the different perspectives we need to be a leading technology company’, Gillian Duggan EVP Human Resources. Meet a few of the incredible women working in Cobham around the world, to celebrate their successes and discuss why our industry is a great career for everyone. Women in Engineering @ Cobham
