Eaton Mission Systems, formally Cobham Mission Systems is seeking a Business Development Manager, Air-To-Air Refueling product line with large US-based OEM Primes at our Davenport, Iowa facility.  The successful candidate will be equally at home with complex marketing formulas, public and customer relations, team building and strategic planning.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity Identification and Business Capture best practices to identify, qualify and develop revenue opportunities related to key Aerospace and Defense Industry opportunities and pursuits related to CMS’s Air-to-Air Refueling Portfolio of Products
  • Acting as a Capture Team Manager or be part of a capture team to support driving key business plan air-to-air refueling growth objectives
  • Identifying opportunities and associated value propositions, working across the BUs to develop solutions
  • Managing pursuits through to contract award / handover
  • Developing a strong opportunity pipeline that supports the BU and Sector’s strategic and long range goals.
  • Participating in trade shows and technical symposiums
  • Preparing and present marketing program briefings to external and internal customers
  • Understanding customer needs and shape new business requirements
  • Developing and executing win strategies to bring innovative solutions to customers
  • Acting as 'voice of the customer' and encourage team behaviors that focus on adding value and delivering customer benefits
  • Maintaining pipeline health of air-to-air refueling opportunities to exceed order intake targets to support revenue generation
  • Drive quality and timely responses of customer deliverables
  • Drive the BUs through appropriate business win Gate decisions with a pragmatic view of the BU’s ability to deliver a solution in line with overall opportunity objectives
  • Manage partnerships and teaming arrangements

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in an appropriate discipline such as Engineering, Science, Marketing or Business
  • 7+ years’ experience in Technical and Business Development in the Aerospace industry, Military Business, Military Service, and/or Commercial Business environments
  • 7+ years’ experience in MS Office Products: Excel and PowerPoint
  • Domestic and international travel required 50% of the time
  • Able to work in an office and indoor or outdoor industrial environment
  • Due to export compliance, must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
  • Strong background in product line business development and marketing activities
  • Experience with, or practical knowledge of aircraft aerial refueling systems

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • Previous experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Aerospace & Defense OEM
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience using Salesforce.com
