The Internal Quality Auditor ensures that organizational processes – and the goods and services that result – comply with the requirements of AS9100 standard, as well as customer, regulatory, and the organization’s own requirements.
Reports to the Director of Quality. Assists and works in conjunction with auditees and other auditors during the course of an internal audit.
Evaluates production processes for compliance with quality requirements
Executes internal audits within established manufacturing and production controls to ensure compliance with in-house and external specifications and standards (i.e., GLP, GMP, ISO, and Six Sigma).
Assist in development of audit plans, audit schedules
Participates in quality audits (and lead a team of quality auditors, when needed)
Identify processes, situations, etc., where organization is meeting requirements, as well as identify opportunities for improvement
Assists audit team in developing audit reports; present audit reports to top management, as needed
Assists with follow-up audits, as required
Develops formal written reports to communicate audit results to management and regulatory compliance agencies, if applicable, and makes recommendations as appropriate.
May be required to develop internal auditing/testing parameters
Performs investigation of stored data in electronic systems (Oracle, TipQA, PLM, etc.) and extract into Excel for trend analysis
Conducts internal production/process and manufacturing quality control audits and risk assessments.
May facilitate work of external auditors during on-site visits.
May conduct vendor evaluation audits to determine qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any science area or equivalent work experience.
Three (3) years internal auditing experience (ISO, AS9100).
Three (3) years conducting trend analysis
Three (3) years using auditing tools and systems
Three (3) years leading audits and auditing projects across a diverse group of departments
Three (3) years delivering and presenting communications to a wide variety of audiences. Ability to communicate well orally with a wide variety of auditees (top management, production workers, sales, customer support, etc.)

- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Certified quality auditor/aerospace auditor in good standing (e.g., ASQ CQA) for AS9100 or ISO 9001.
Eye for detail and above-average analytical ability
Five (5) years internal auditing experience
Five (5) years leading audits and auditing projects
Five (5) years conducting trend analysis and using auditing tools
Experience building QMS systems
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities. Must have solid experience with auditing tools (e.g., control charts, Ishikawa diagrams).
Exceptional listening, communication, and presentation skills.
Works well with people at all levels of the organization.
Works independently and as part of a diverse team of auditors.
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office experience.
