The Assembler I will perform a wide variety of assembly operations to create precision electro-mechanical, electronic assemblies or sub-assemblies. Determines and/or follows method and sequence of operations in performing such tasks as drilling, reaming, burnishing, tapping, wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing. Uses precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance with blueprint specifications and tolerances; disassemblies precision assemblies and corrects malfunctions. Operates automatic and semi-automatic assembly equipment and sets up and adjusts fixtures.
Works from drawings, process sheets and verbal instructions in the fabrication of subassemblies and assemblies. Performs moderately complex soldering operations such as tin and solder nickel plated components. Hand cuts plastic dielectric material and solder preforms. Installs large piece parts using appropriate epoxy, and proceeds to cure to specifications.
Cleans units with chemicals, grit blast, grind or sand metalwork to meet dimensional requirements.
Mixes and applies chemicals for bonding, sealing, or filling antennas.
Installs and torque hardware per drawing.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship.
- Six months – 1 year experience in Electronic Assembly in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Six months – 1 year experience using microscope and small hand tools such as tweezers.
- Microsoft Office.
- Experience in Aerospace or Defense industry.
