The Head of Financial Accounting EMEA (Validation) will work closely with the Wireless VP Finance as well as FP&A and Costing & Margin Analysis teams to plan and manage the financial activities of the legal entities covering the Validation business segment (former Aeroflex) of Cobham Wireless.
 
This will involve supervision & management of general accounting activities, analysis of results, business partnership as well as maintaining effective internal controls & ensuring statutory compliance across multiple sites and legal entities.
 

This role is based in Stevenage, UK.

As a Head of Financial Accounting EMEA your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the statutory finance team based in Stevenage UK to ensure the following key areas are delivered:
  • Supervision of the month end process and support for the analysis of the monthly business performance, forecast and budget.
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns for UK and EU entities.
  • Update and maintain transfer pricing documentation.
  • Drive cash flow management, foreign exchange hedging assessment and working capital improvements.
  • Enhance financial policies and procedures to ensure they are consistent across Cobham Wireless and are appropriately set for the business. Lead compliance with the Cobham Corporate Framework and Group Finance Manual.
  • Be responsible for the success of the annual financial internal and external audit process for the Validation entities.
  • Coordinate payroll related reconciliations and where applicable, support simplification of various payrolls.
  • Strengthen the EMEA Validation Financial Accounting team to create a benchmark sector statutory finance function. Build talent and ensure succession planning.
  • Play an active role and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, business change programs and other projects.

As a Head of Financial Accounting EMEA your key skills and qualifications should include:

  • Qualified accountant, preferably with a minimum of 5 years PQE leading the financial accounting department of a listed company or with Big Four background
  • Experience in preparing statutory accounts (UK GAAP & IFRS) and corporation tax computations
  • Experience in designing and implementing process improvements & controls
  • Experience in Tax & Treasury management
  • Leadership & team management skills
  • Experience in driving finance improvement initiatives and integrating team
  • Advanced communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to serve as a thought partner for senior management and to contribute to the general management of the Business Unit
  • Appreciates and manages business risk, natural governance owne
  • Creates an environment in which issues are recognised, accepted and resolved
  • Has a high level of gravitas and commands respect
