Cobham SATCOM is looking for a number of Embedded Software Developers to be part of Cobham SATCOMs very challenging development of the next generation secure satellite communication equipment to be used in commercial air traffic.
 
You will be part of a diverse R&D with mixed nationalities and some of the most skilful engineers in the business where you will get the chance to develop and influence the next generations of our world leading product. As a software developer you will work with design, programming, test, integration and documentation and depending on your experience you will contribute in other development phases like specification and architecture.
 
Our software development is organized using agile principles. We work in stable teams with focus on continuous improvement of quality, planning, knowledge sharing, craftsmanship and innovation. It is important that you will be part of this work.
 
These roles are based in KGS. Lyngby, Copenhagen.

As an Embedded Software Developer your key skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Master or BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Network Technology or equivalent
  • Proficiency in C and C++ programming
  • Experience with multi-threaded and real-time development
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment
  • Knowledge of test principles and test automation
  • Comfortable developing in a regulated environment
As a person you are a team player, you are comfortable in a multidisciplinary environment where the products are developed in an efficient interaction between disciplines (software, hardware, mechanics, systems and project management) and you have a profound understanding of what gives costumers value.

As an Embedded Software Developer your main responsibilities will involve:

Design, implementation and test of safe, secure, maintainable and robust software modules and integrate them into applications running in an RTOS or Linux environment. We are using C or C++ as the main programming language, but also different scripting languages for glue or test purposes.
 
You will have the opportunity to engage with various technologies and concepts including TCP/IP and mobile network stacks, proprietary hardware interfaces incl. driver development, software architecture, secure and defensive coding principles, telephone services and applications, voice and data connections and satellite systems etc. You will benefit from our established framework of source control and configuration, shared code and libraries, automatic build system, code review and defect tracking.
