Cobham SATCOM is looking for a Product Engineer for our global Operations Engineering Team with strong manufacturing experience and project management skills to support our global manufacturing operations.
 
The Product Engineering function is responsible for the technical support to on-going and NPI manufacturing including factory transfers. The Product Engineer will carry the role as the technical liaison between the factory and the business unit administrating Cobham Equipment Calibration, reporting yield & quality status, facilitating stakeholders and involvement of the right people at the right time to address issues in a timely manner.
 
This role is based in KGS. Lyngby, Copenhagen and will involve overseas travel to Asia, mainly Thailand. 

As a Product Engineer your key skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Relevant engineering background in electronics/mechanics and manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with electronics manufacturing both boards and systems
  • Experience with preventative maintenance of automated test equipment both HW & SW
  • Experience with Quality Control management at product level
  • Experience with Lean production
  • Experience with SMT production and IPC standards
  • Project Management skills experience
  • Debug experience with RF circuitry
  • Experienced user of Labview and Teststand
  • Solid understanding of purchasing and logistics
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Danish
  • Thai skills is an advantage
  • Experienced user in Microsoft Office

As a  Product Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Provide ramp-up support activities of newly released or transferred (training & line setup)
  • Provide technical & manufacturing sustaining support for existing products (Monitoring & optimizing the lines)
  • Chairing 2nd Line support forum on all technical issues raised by our EMS-Factory and 1st line
  • Engage the right skills and people from the backend  (Operations and R&D)
  • Ensure problems are solved with effective corrective actions
  • Initiate and drive quality and efficiency improvement activities
  • Key responsible for the proprietary manufacturing tools and test equipment at the EMS factories (i.e. Debug, updates, maintenance & calibration)
  • Implement changes in test equipment HW & SW (Labview, Teststand)
  • Provide mini audits of suppliers as a supplement to the global Audits as well as issue tracking
