The position is placed in Research and Development, where we develop and engineer solutions for satellite communication systems. The department is based in Lyngby and is the largest of our four development sites, which include Pandrup, Cape Town, and Concord.
The development teams are divided in different technology centers that support our product portfolio. The initial team you will join is responsible for executing projects within VSAT antennas.
Your team consists of highly skilled individual contributors with backgrounds in electronics and mechanical engineering, system design, and long experience in the company.
As a Project Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
In this position, you will be responsible for planning and executing one or two projects. You report to the project director, and interface with a wide range of stakeholders from Business Development to Operations.
You will drive results by setting direction/decisions, managing execution, identifying and resolving challenges before they turn into problems. You will be planning and heading up the development for high-tech products through definition of requirements, design and implementation to type approval and certification. Milestones, schedules, cost management and risk analysis are your go-to tools in this effort, and you are able to adjust and maintain overview when priorities change.
On a day-to-day basis, you will support your project team in their daily efforts to solve technical challenges on time. You will be overall responsible for the entire project, in close collaboration with Project Managers from other departments at SATCOM in Lyngby; you will ensure that projects are able to deliver through the right capabilities and planning. You succeed by applying a style of collaboration and creation of ownership among team members.
As a Project Manager your key skills and qualifications will ideally include:
You have a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, combined with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in complex project management.
You have previously managed projects with regulatory requirements and process demands, and know what it takes to deliver on both short and especially long-term goals.
