Cobham is seeking a Supervisor Logistics Engineer that will lead a team performing detailed logistics analysis, appraisal of maintenance and support requirements of aerospace products and systems. This position is located in Davenport, IA.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads and supervises a team that performs detailed logistics analysis and appraisals of maintenance and support requirements of aerospace products and systems
  • Promotes functional and executional excellence in a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Perform detailed analysis and appraisals of hardware design to identify and document: maintenance, and support requirements for aerospace products and systems
  • Develop overall support requirements such as facilities, maintenance, testing requirements
  • Prepare and conduct customer training on maintenance of products
  • Write and validate operation and maintenance manuals
  • Participate on integrated product development teams to provide analysis and evaluations of design trade-offs
  • Prepare MIL-PRF 49506 compliant reports
  • Prepare ATA Spec 2000 compliant Component Maintenance Manuals
  • Prepare Mil-Spec compliant organizational, intermediate and depot level overhaul, repair and testing manuals
  • Project time to supervisory time percentage is approximately 70/30
  • Actively networks to cultivate relationships with customers, within engineering and with other functional department staff and leadership to achieve operational and product excellence
  • Works with Resource Managers and Program Managers to support department Demand/Capacity planning
  • Provides direction for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Actively enforces adherence to environmental, safety and health policies and promotes a culture of hazard and waste reduction

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in new product development, product testing, or logistics engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience writing reports in customer/industry standard formats
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US. In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems or similar Engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated experience writing and presenting technical material to customers, mid-level, and executive management
  • Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams inclusive of supply chain, manufacturing, quality, business development, contracts and finance
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing multiple and conflicting priorities
  • Ability to work in an office, lab, and indoor industrial environment
  • 3 or more years of experience leading engineering project development teams
  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Familiarity with ATA Spec 2000 submittals for T, W, and Z files and CMM preparation
  • Experience with aerospace or defense product manufacturing
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills – e.g. clearly communicates, empathic listening skills, unbiased, diplomatic, trustworthy, accountable, and fosters strong working relationships
  • Demonstrated experience managing, supervising or leading engineering development/project teams to include resource planning
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio
  • Strong writing skills
  • Experience with reports as laid out in MIL-PRF-49506
  • Experienced using Relex 217Plus
  • Experience with Isodraw, Isograph Reliability Workbench, SlicWave, OmegaPS, CASA, and PowerLogJ
  • Experienced in the design of highly accelerated life tests (HALT) and reliability testing
  • Familiarity with Adobe Framemaker software package in development of ATA specification compliant manuals
  • Familiarity with reliability analysis, FMEA, MTTR, MTBF, MTTF, SSHA, and fault tree analysis is strongly desired
