Cobham Type 4 CNG Cylinders Selected by Altech-Eco

Cobham announces that Altech-Eco Corporation, one of the premier manufacturers of fuel conversion systems for light duty vehicles, has chosen Cobham as a Type 4 cylinder preferred supplier.

"With Cobham coming on the market and offering CNG cylinders with no minimum amounts, quick turnaround times and competitive prices, they are helping the natural gas vehicle industry grow and allowing us to be more flexible in meeting the needs of our customers. We really appreciate what Cobham is doing for us and the industry", said Miles George, Vice President of Altech-Eco.  Altech-Eco, an approved Ford QVM (Qualified Vehicle Modifier) CNG technology developer, is EPA certifying their Bi-Fuel and Dedicated CNG Systems for the following Ford 2017 models; F-250/350 6.2L, F-150 5.0L, Transit 3.7L and Transit Connect 2.5L.

Tim Sopko, Vice President, General Manager, Cobham Mission Systems said, "Being chosen by Altech-Eco, a leader in the alternative fuel industry, is a confirmation of our winning strategy, which focuses on giving companies the flexibility they need to grow their business, not their inventory.  Conversion system suppliers and individual CNG truck owners no longer have to endure long lead times, damaged tanks as a result of poor packaging, and large quantity minimums. Cobham can deliver cylinders how and when you need them at a price you can afford."

Cobham's current offering includes a 21" diameter family of various lengths available in strap mount and newly released boss mounts.  We continue to develop additional sizes including a 17" diameter family of cylinders available to the market later this fall and our 26" diameter family in the first quarter of 2017.  We also have the ability to customize sizes as needed. Unique to the industry, Cobham performs additional load testing to validate the boss mounts, strap mounts, and composite interface will withstand long term vehicle usage and our cylinders are significantly less permeable to offer superior safety and performance.

Cobham designs and produces high performance composite pressure vessels and hybrid integrated structures for alternative energy, life support, military and commercial aircraft, and spacecraft applications. The natural gas vehicle market is a strategic fit that leverages our gas management core capability and composites technology to offer the best value to end users.
