Cobham Aerospace Communications has been awarded a contract from Beechcraft Defense Company to provide Digital Control Management Systems (DCOMS) for up to 10 Beechcraft T-6C military training aircraft operated by the UK Ministry of Defense’s Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) program.
DCOMS is a digital audio system designed for military trainer,
light fighter, and ground attack aircraft. The customised
Beechcraft T-6C system consists of an Audio Management Unit (AMU),
which is controlled by Pilot and Co-pilot Audio Control Panels
(ACP). Featuring a dual redundant aural warning generator,
automatic switching back-up, and commercial/military headset
compatibility, Cobham's DCOMS delivers unsurpassed audio quality,
flexibility, and reliability for aircraft with critical-mission
The Beechcraft T-6C is being used to train pilots, navigators, and
weapons systems operators from more than 20 countries around the
world, and will also be used for the UK's Royal Air Force and Royal
Navy aircrew training in the near future.
