Cobham is a founder signatory to the SC21 programme, which was launched in 2006. The programme has been coordinated by the SBAC and is strongly supported by the Minister for Defense Procurement, by the Regional Development Agencies and by the Regional Trade Bodies across the country.
SC21 is a change programme and action plan designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the UK aerospace and defense industry by raising the performance of its supply chains. Signatories to SC21 are committed to developing UK supply chains to ensure they remain competitive and able to deliver increased value to customers.
At its core, SC21 is an industry led programme with three main objectives now agreed by all of the collaborating companies; these being:-
- better supply chain relationships
- better supply chain development and performance and
- reduced burden of audits, through joint recognition of supply chain accreditations.
