Marine Applications

Cobham offers robust, high performance carbon/aluminum composite pressure vessels used for marine life raft inflation.  Cobham is the US Navy's primary supplier of the composite cylinders for inflating the MK6 and MK7 Life Rafts used throughout the US Fleet.

comprods-marineCobham has qualified and is currently the US Navy's primary supplier of the composite cylinder for inflating the MK6 Life Raft used shipboard throughout the US Fleet. Other carbon/aluminum CFFC cylinders are used for a variety of commercial marine life raft inflation applications.

Aircraft Applications

All Cobham DOT-approved carbon/aluminum composite tanks come with a durable and robust clear urethane outer coating resin that is applied to protect the composite surface against harsh handling and accidental exposure to fluids, solvents and ultraviolet light.

Cobham tanks are used for aircraft escape slide and life raft deployment as well as emergency crew oxygen and passenger oxygen breathing. Regulation of system pressure and flow is accomplished using a variety of Cobham designed valving. Cobham also offers emergency gear extension and secondary power gas storage tanks for military aircraft applications.

comprods-2Cobham supplies a variety of lightweight DOT-approved carbon/aluminum CFFC and fiberglass/aluminum FRP-1 composite tanks for commercial and military aircraft applications.

Cobham offers a full line of ultra-low-weight carbon/aluminum and fiberglass/aluminum DOT and TC approved cylinders for self-contained breathing apparatus (SBCA), medical gas storage and other commercial applications. The man-portable oxygen and breathing air cylinders are among the lightest and most compact in the industry. They are offered in a variety of sizes, service pressures, and are available in various colors and finishes. Custom logos/labels are available as an option at additional cost.

Military Ground Vehicle Applications

Cobham supplies lightweight ballistic tolerant carbon/aluminum pressure vessels for military ground vehicles.  These high performance robust cylinders can be found in the fire suppression and height management systems aboard the Stryker family of armored vehicles.
