Cobham produces a variety of actuation systems including weapon ejection systems, weapon control actuation systems for fin actuation and wing/tail deployment, inflation actuators, and landing gear blowdown systems.

Weapon Ejection Actuation Systems

The Cobham family of weapon Weapon Ejection Systems provides an energy source to successfully unlock weapon release linkages and extend ejector pistons of bomb ejection systems on a variety of military aircraft.
Weapon Control Actuation Systems

The GBU Manifold Assembly is a cold gas, pneumatic fin actuation control subsystem that is used to control the movement of canard fins on the GBU-10/12/16 family of laser guided bombs.
The Cobham family of Wing and Tail Deployment Actuators provide pneumatic wing and fin deployment subsystems for various strike weapons systems.
Emergency Inflation Actuators

The Emergency Flotation Valve and Cylinder Assembly (part number B13268-1) is an inflation actuator designed to rapidly inflate emergency flotation devices on military and commercial helicopters. Current applications include the Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk and S-76 commercial helicopter. This system can also be applied to other cold gas inflation applications.
The Raft Inflation Valve Assembly (part number B44800-1) is used to inflate emergency life rafts on a variety of commercial aircraft. It has been qualified to and is compliant with TSO C70 (life rafts).
The Slide Inflation Valve/Regulator Assembly (part number B19250-3) is used to inflate emergency evacuation slides on large commercial aircrafts. It is a mechanically actuated pull cable device that discharges gas through a single outlet port. The outlet pressure is regulated to an aspirator.
Emergency Landing Gear Blowdown Systems

Cobham has supplied the Landing Gear Blowdown System, (part number B40721-3) for the Boeing V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft since 1988. The landing gear blowdown actuation system is used aboard military aircraft to unlock, lower and relock the main landing gear structure in the down position in the event of failure of the main hydraulic extension system.
The Pneumatic Bottle Assembly (PBA) Landing Gear Blowdown System stores and distributes nitrogen gas on the Global Hawk Unmanned Vehicle landing gear. In the event of a failure to the hydraulic system which operates the landing gear, nitrogen gas contained within the storage vessel of the PBA is distributed to the landing gear through the connected manifold assembly.
