Cobham's Flight Inspection Business Unit provides bespoke flight inspection services designed to maximise peace of mind by minimising the risk of unsafe landings. Proven in operations around the globe, Cobham's Flight Inspection Business Unit's expertise and experience in this crucial area is relied on by airport operators and service providers, airport equipment manufacturers, systems integrators and government regulators; together a range of organisations responsible for airport flight inspection, navigational aids and flight safety.
Operating from bases in the UK and Germany, Cobham's Flight Inspection Business Unit's capabilities span commissioning, return to service, engineering flight checks and periodic flight inspection for:
- CAT I/II/III ILS (Instrument Landing System)
- DVOR (Doppler Very-High-Frequency Omnidirectional Range)
- NDB (Non-Directional Beacon)
- U/VDF (Ultra-High-Frequency/Very-High-Frequency Direction Finder)

Customers benefit from a service founded on highly skilled and experienced personnel employing the technology, systems and equipment needed to deliver the highest standards of flight inspection. Cobham’s 26 pilots operate six aircraft fitted with automated flight inspection systems and dedicated calibration test equipment. The team also includes 35 navaid inspectors, radar inspectors, and calibration engineers together with eight operational support staff.
