Whether supporting Cobham's own aircraft fleet or transforming Customer concepts into reality - Cobham's Design Organisation offers complete turnkey solutions for aircraft avionics modifications and mechanical/structural programmes.

Holding EASA Part 21 Subpart J, CAA A8-21, UK MoD DAOS and many other CAA, UK MoD and associated accreditations, Cobham's Design Organisation design, certify and support Flight Test activities to a range of civil and military, fixed and rotary-wing platforms. Offering industry-leading Design expertise with the support of an in-house one-stop-shop Aircraft Modification and Integration manufacturing facility, if required, Cobham's Design Organisation specialises in designing in accordance with applicable regulations and environmental requirements. Aircraft modifications and repair schemes for avionic/electrical systems, radio, navigation and instrumentation systems and aircraft structures are also designed and certified in-house.

Cobham specialises in the modification of aircraft to carry customer equipment and attain Airworthiness Authority clearances for carriage of equipment on civil and military aircraft. Customers can choose to have the trials conducted on their behalf by Cobham or use their own team to collect data. The service includes the identification and provision of suitable aircraft, flight deck crews and flight test engineers, flight clearances, flight test programmes and data capture during airborne testing. Design certification for flight test can also be supplied using Cobham's civil EASA and military DAOS approvals.
