The Overhaul Department was established to provide engine as well as mechanical, avionic and electrical component support for a vast array of aircraft and engine types. With a broad range of EASA, UK MoD, CAA and FAA approvals, and an extensive Part 145 Component Capability.

 

Component Overhaul

 

Forming a part of the Overhaul Department, Component Repair and Overhaul offers a dedicated facility in support of aircraft and engine component repair and overhaul, as well as loom and electrical assembly manufacture and repair. Overhaul, repair and manufacture assembly can be undertaken in accordance with approved data and Part 145/Part 21 Component Capability. Additions to this capability can be made subject to available approved data.

 

Operating from dedicated workshops, Battery, Mechanical, Role-Equipment, Radio/ Instrument/ Electrical components are catered for, as well as Loom & Electrical Assembly Manufacture. This is supported by Pneumatic and Hydraulic pressure testing facilities and a Fuel component test rig. Cobham's Component Overhaul Department is able to support a diverse range of Customer requirements - from routine loom production to AOG component repair/overhaul.

 

Engine Overhaul

 

To supplement our component facility Engine Overhaul offers a dedicated facility in support of the General Electric CF700 Engine. Complete capability covers Repair, Borescope Inspection, Hot Section Inspection and Overhaul as well as SB/AD embodiment. In addition to this engine overhaul is able to provide PWC PT6A On-Wing Hot Section Inspection support utilising a dedicated Repair Team with the ability to support your operational requirements here at Bournemouth or your own facility, subject to facility survey.

 

Operating from a dedicated facility the Engine Overhaul Department provides the ability to carryout engine Disassembly/Assembly, Inspection, Deep Clean, NDT (FPI) and Weld Repair. Component rework and assembly machining is supported by a dedicated machine shop, utilising the facilities laths, mills, vertical bores and cylindrical grinders. Vertical and Horizontal Balance Machines provide the capability to balance all rotating assemblies prior to engine assembly. The on-site accessory shop provides in-house support for Accessory, Transfer and Power Take Off gearbox assemblies. Engine testing completes the engine capability with a 10,000lbs thrust rated engine test cell.
