Vibration Testing

Cobham Sensor Systems, San Diego's Environmental Test Lab has three Vibration Test Systems available. Control and Analysis Testing Capabilities Include Eight Channel Sine and Random Vibration to 11 kHz, Classical Shock, Sine-on-Random (Gunfire), Shock Response Spectrum (SRS), Transient Capture, Resonance Survey, Tri-Axial Fixture Evaluation, Over-Vibration Protection utilizing redundant accelerometers, and multiple control point averaging.

Cobham Sensor Systems, San Diego's wide background in High Reliability and Space component testing has helped to create an advanced state-of-the-art test facility. Over-limit protection is achieved using a separate control path employing the Unholtz-Dickie AM-123 Vibration Monitor/Limiter. This over-test protection strategy provides complete test safety for all test characteristics. Tri-axial analysis is frequently performed on the vibration test systems. This method assures that even narrow-band cross-axis inputs are kept well below primary input test levels. All requirements of MIL-STD-202, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750 and MIL-STD-810 can be met.

Cobham Sensor Systems, San Diego has employed a vast array of operational test methods, from basic DC current monitoring to phase-noise measurement during vibration. Chart recorders and RF test equipment to 20 GHz is available. Digital Still and Video Imaging/Recording is available.
Cobham’s on-site machine shop and tool development lab can assist with any fixturing needs you may have. Minor fixturing modifications can be handled immediately using the manual mill or drill press available in the Environmental Test facility. Cobham has the experience and agility to address problems as they arise, to keep your test on schedule and your program within budget.
