Machine Shop

Sensor Systems machine shop is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment; including 18 computer controlled milling machines and lathes, which accurately and repeatedly produce components faster than manual machines. Machine Shop employees are highly skilled and experienced in the precision processes required to manufacture quality antennas and radomes.

Very precise tolerances must be maintained for antennas and radomes to perform as designed. Sensor Systems Machine Shop consistently maintains tolerances to ±0.0005” as required to achieve electrical specifications/requirements. Additionally, Sensor Systems has extensive experience in designing and using “custom” or “proprietary” tools and fixtures to ensure the proper and repeatable manufacture of our products.

The Machine Shop also has manual equipment that is used for secondary operations and fixturing in support of the computer-controlled machines and to perform special prototype modifications and precision custom connector manufacturing. The assembly and composite manufacturing departments also utilize this equipment.
