FB Heliservices (FBH) and its sister company FBS Ltd, are joint venture companies between Cobham and Bristow Helicopters Ltd (BHL), specialising in the provision of helicopters and associated services to the military and government markets.

FBH/FBS operate 60 helicopters around the world supporting a variety of training, operational and search and rescue operations. A team of 76 helicopter instructors and 380 engineers form a cohesive partnership with military and government operators in a wide variety of partnerships, with an additional 190 support staff  providing aviation related support facilities.

Military Training

FBH operates the Defence Helicopter Flying School, training more than 220 pilots a year from all three services, from ab initio to advanced levels. The training services are regarded as a benchmark across the industry and the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract is considered one of the most successful ever awarded by the UK MoD.

Special Mission Flight Operations

FBH has built on its expertise operating and maintaining its own fleet of more than 60 rotary wing aircraft, and provides these services to government organisations around the world. Under contract to the UK Ministry of Defence, company owned aircraft and engineering support are provided to British Forces in Cyprus, Belize and Brunei. In the Middle East and Australia maintenance support is provided for various helicopter types.
