The above calculator provides a link analysis of GMS's Messenger Digital Link (MDL) Audio/Video system. This analysis is designed to provide a reasonable approximation of the system performance and is based on both theoretical and empirical data and formulas.
The MDL systems are designed to work both indoors and outdoors in high multipath environments. These systems have been used in both Line Of Sight (LOS) and Non-Line Of Sight (N-LOS) situations. N-LOS performance is dependant on the signal from the transmitter reaching the receiver either via bounces or penetration of the obstruction. NLOS Link performance is very difficult to predict with any accuracy.
