Cobham Surveillance (GMS Products) High-Performance, Dual Conversion TDC Series of "Tunable Down-Converters" provide superior performance in support of a wide variety of down conversion applications from FM to the latest Multi-Carrier modulation schemes (C-OFDM, Spread Spectum, 8-VSB, etc.). The TDC features high linearity, wide spurious-free dynamic range, and low phase noise.
This product was designed to be remotely mounted at the antenna for superior system performance. It outputs an IF signal that can drive up to 500 feet of RG-59 cable. DC power can be supplied either remotely via the IF outputs coax cable or locally via the DB-15F connector. The input signal is band selected with a pre-selector filter. The low insertion loss of the input filter and the LNA establish the 3.0-5.5 dB noise figure (band dependant) of the system. PLL synthesizers with low spurious and phase noise are used for the Local oscillators.
The TDC Series is part of a new family of processing modules that are designed to "stack" together to form flexible receiving systems capable of supporting multiple bands.
