The HT Series of 25 Watt High-Power Transmitters from Cobham Surveillance (GMS Products) are compact, full-featured microwave transmitters capable of operating in bands from 1.7 – 5 GHz. They transmit an NTSC or PAL compatible video signal and two full-bandwidth audio subcarrier signals. A data sub-carrier option is available which converts one of the audio subcarrier into a FSK data sub-carrier at data rates up to 38.4 Kbaud. Additionally, for high-security applications, an optional audio/video scrambling option is available.

With this option, the video signal is encrypted with a technique that utilizes a line cut and rotates scrambling that offers a very high level of picture concealment coupled with excellent security. Two secure (encrypted) audio signals are integrated within the encrypted video signal. Additionally, up to two non-secure audio signals can be transmitted on sub-carriers for a total of four independent, un-balanced audio signals.

The rugged, compact enclosure and dual power capability of the HT transmitter make it ideal for airborne, and mobile remote broadcasting. All transmitter functions (including encryption on and off) are user controllable through the control interface. The HT can be controlled with the Cobham Surveillance (GMS Products) hand-held Remote Control Unit (RCU) or via an RS-232 interface. All operating parameters are stored in non-volatile memory so they are retained in the event of the loss of power.
