Wireless DVB-T COFDM Helicopter Surveillance Downlink

The Super Bowl XLI was held in Miami, Florida at the Dolphins stadium. The Miami Dade Police department is in charge of providing security for the entire area and was in need of a highly deployable wireless video downlink for their helicopters. They have a fleet of helicopters available at any one timebut were not in the position to outfit every helicopter with a downlink. GMS provided a helicopter downlink solution that can easily and quickly be installed on any of their fleet of helicopters.

This video demonstrates the major components of the installation and operation of the GMS helicopter downlink system. The Miami Dade Police Department were easily able to achieve  their 20 miles coverage goal for the Super Bowl event. Similar links with this configuration have achieved 80-100 miles of range for LOS (Line Of Sight) condition.
