Mineral Wells, TX - Cobham has announced three significant HeliSAS developments:
EDWARDS & ASSOCIATES PARTNERSHIP: Cobham will partner with Edwards & Associates of Bristol, Tennessee, to obtain FAA Supplemental Type Certification of HeliSAS on the Bell 206, 206L, and Bell 407 platforms. Edwards, in conjunction with Aeronautical Accessories, Inc. will be able to supply HeliSAS autopilot kits to other dealers and will offer customer installations on the B206 and B407 models.
METRO AVIATION PARTNERSHIP: Cobham will partner with Metro Aviation of Shreveport, Louisiana, to secure a HeliSAS STC on the Eurocopter AS350 model series. Cobham Avionics will own the STC, while Metro will offer HeliSAS installation services and provide the installation kit to Cobham. The AS350 launch customer for HeliSAS is projected to be MetStat EMS of Winona, Mississippi.
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY TO DEPLOY HELISAS, EFIS: The Santa Barbara County, California, Sheriff's Department will install HeliSAS on their UH-1 UltraHuey. The aircraft is currently being modified and will also feature a two-screen Cobham Synthetic Vision EFIS system.
