Rotary Joints, RF

The Rotary Joint is the link between the stationary and movable parts of a radar or microwave communication system, e.g. between the transmitter/receiver and the rotating antenna, for azimuth and elevation of antennas, in foldable masts etc.

A rotary joint has often several microwave channels on the same concentric axis. Slip rings and azimuth position sensors, optical encoders or inductive discs and fluid joints can also be integrated in the assembly, forming a rotating sub-system.

Cobham Sensor Systems (Kista) has unmatched competence and experience in the combination of kinetic mechanics and microwave technology, making us a premier provider of state-of-the art rotary joints.
