Opera-2d Design Environment - End of Life Notification

The Opera-2d/DE (Design Environment) module will be retired after Opera version 14. The DE will be supported whilst Opera 14 is the current release, after which it will be no longer supported.

Over the past 4 years, creation of parametric Opera-2d models within the DE has largely been superseded by added parameterisation functionality within the Opera-2d/PP Environment, and by the Electric Machines Environment.  In addition, Opera-2d/DE does not fully exploit the features provided within the standard Opera-2d/PP, such as the versatile Gap command.

The Opera-2d/DE module will not be included in Opera 15 or subsequent software releases. Users wishing to continue to access Opera-2d/DE, will be able to do so by reverting to version 14 when they want to use the DE.  This can be achieved by keeping version 14 installed alongside the newer version and activating it when required.
