High power waveguide pressure windows manufactured by Cobham Sensor Systems (Exeter NH) utilize high quality materials made of beryllia, fused quartz, or alumina ceramics. These windows are offered in air-cooled or liquid-cooled configurations depending on the application.
Kapton, Teflon or fiberglass materials are available and will withstand moderate power levels at a fraction of the cost of the beryllia, quartz, or alumina ceramics. Pressure windows have very low loss, VSWR, and insertion loss.
